Viseu

Where Coimbra is bustling with students and tourists, the provincial capital Viseu is even in summer a place of peace and tranquility. But the historical town has so much to offer. Stroll allong the old small streets around the church and cathedral that are opposite to each other on the main square. Make sure to visit the cathedral (sé) and the Grao Vasco museum next door. In august and september Viseu hosts the Sao Mateus festival.
