The vibrant university city Coimbra has so much to offer, too much to mention in this section. Please check your travel guide for all the information. Just some personal top tips: The National Museum Machado do Castro has won a international Prix de Rome award in 2014 and has a beautifull collection of art and artefacts. Also the museum for science (Museu da Ciencia) is worth a visite. The collection and the way of presentation is still original since the start in 1772.

If you want to get to learn the Portuguese Fado, then Fado ao Centro is a great place. It is a very intimiate theatre, the people allowed in is limited. Students and former students of Coimbra university perform are range of traditional Coimbra Fado songs. It ends with a glass of port wine! Make sure to make a reservation beforehand.
