Lousã and the Xisto villages

Lousã is a charming little town, home of the famous Beirão liquer. It is the starting point of the Rota de Xiste. This is a route that will lead you to severall Xiste villages, houses that are build with flat brown and grey stones. There are also signposted routes for walking. Interesting to know is that this mountain range is the one you can see from Eirigo!

Close to the Castelo de Lousã castle, signposted allong the route, is restaurant O Burgo, locally known for the excellent food. The location is like a fairytale. With cascades and granite rocks, and even a small beach.
