The city of Lisbon needs no further explanation. It is an amazing place. From Eirigo it is possible to make a daytrip to Lisbon, or the stay there for one night and afterwards return to the tranquility of Eirigo. It is a 2,5 hour drive from Eirigo to Lisbon, or Lisboa in Portuguese. The traffic in Lisbon can be challenging and parking difficult. A much better option is the train! There is a direct intercity connection that leaves the station of Mortágua at 8.45 in the morning. It will take you in al comfort in less than 3 hours to the station of Lisboa Santa Apolonia, the end of the line and only a ten minutes walk to the magical Praça de Commerçio, along the Tejo river.Enjoy Lisbon, go to Belem or Sintra and see the monastery, have a hefty lunch, and take the direct train back at 18.30.
