Boas Quintas wine tasting

Mortágua is situated in the Dão wine region, famous for its red wines made from the Portuguese grapes Tinta Roriz and Touriga Nacional. On the western side Mortágua directly borders the Bairrada wine region, well-known for its sparkling ‘espumante’. It is very common for the inhabitants of Mortágua to make their own wines, mostly red, but also white, rosé and espumante. Villagers will gladly invite you into their wine cellar to tast their home-made wine. If you want an official tasting, we can recommend the following ‘quintas’.

The wineproducer Boas Quintas in Mortágua makes wines of excellent quality and taste. You can by them at the Hiper Feirão (Fonte do Douro, Agenda, Herdade de Gambia), but you can also by them at the producer, they have a shop.

It is also possible to go for a winetasting at the Boas Quintas, and for example, make your own blend of the grape varieties into your favorite wine.
